This unit study covers the history of the papacy from its founding by Christ through the modern era, organized into twelve chronological periods. It includes profiles of 12 Great Popes and five Landmark Encyclicals (Unam Sanctam, Quanta Cura, Rerum Novarum, Pascendi Dominici Gregis, and Mortalium Animos), each with historical background, a summary, and an excerpt from the original text.
 
Each section includes a QR-coded video lecture, footnoted vocabulary, and review questions covering multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, true/false, and essay formats. Also included are a standalone glossary, a crossword puzzle, and a comprehensive final test with answer key. Two lesson plans are included,  a 4-week (2 days/week) schedule and an 8-week (1 day/week) schedule.
